Overview

CNC lathes require a program to maximize the machine’s capabilities and to produce precision machined parts. This course will give you the knowledge to plan and develop a CNC lathe program.

By the end of this course, you will be able to

• Understand the necessary steps to take when creating a CNC lathe program
• Explain the structure of a CNC lathe program
• Define the purpose and meaning of common addresses, codes, and words in a CNC lathe program
• Understand the requirements to command a spindle function, linear movement, and circular movement
• Describe how to organize a CNC program for a CNC lathe
