Full program description
Overview
The ability to read an assembly drawing, identify the components, and understand how dimensions and tolerances affect how the components assemble or fit together, is important to many people working in manufacturing. In this course, you will learn how to identify and interpret geometric tolerances on an engineering drawing, identify the sections of a feature control frame, and understand the terms associated with threads and threaded fasteners.
By the end of this course, you will be able to
- List the five geometric characteristic categories
- Identify geometric characteristic symbols
- Interpret an assembly drawing and define the types of fits
- Describe the function of a threaded fastener
- Identify the basic characteristics of a thread
