Full program description
Overview
Electricity is easy to take for granted, but every aspect of our lives depends on this critical energy source. In this course, you will learn how electricity is produced, transmitted, distributed, and utilized every day. Then, you will gain an understanding of how energy flows and uses circuits to channel power. Finally, you will be introduced to the intricate relationship in an electrical circuit between power, voltage, current, and resistance.
By the end of this course, you will be able to
- Describe how electricity is utilized as a source of energy
- Identify the structure and characteristics of an atom
- List the parts and differences in various electrical circuits
- Understand the term voltage and how it is measured
- Articulate the importance of resistance in an electrical circuit
- Distinguish between the two mathematical representations of Ohm's Law and Watt's Law
