Full program description

Overview

This course covers intermediate topics in geometry, including circles, quadrilaterals, and three-dimensional shapes. Understanding how to calculate the surface area and volume of three-dimensional shapes and how to use a Cartesian coordinate system will help you visualize how different products are manufactured.

By the end of this course, you will be able to

  • Define quadrilaterals
  • Calculate the area of quadrilaterals
  • Define a circle and other terms related to circles, such as radius, chord, and diameter
  • Define pi
  • Calculate the circumference and area of a circle
  • Calculate the surface area and volume of three-dimensional shapes, such as spheres, cylinders, and cubes
  • Understand how to use a Cartesian coordinate system to analyze shapes
  • Understand the effects of transformations on shapes
  • Define the term symmetry
