Overview

In this course, you will learn about the measure portion of the DMAIC continuous improvement model. The measure portion of the DMAIC methodology provides a Six Sigma team with the tools needed to focus the project on possible causes of problems and solutions to those causes.

By the end of this course, you will be able to

  • Understand the importance of mapping a process
  • Identify the various Six Sigma tools that can be used in creating a process map
  • Understand the basics of probability and statistics
  • Understand the central limit theorem and its significance to statistics
  • Identify the different types of data and the tools to collect, summarize, and present the data
  • Identify different probability distributions including normal, binomial, Poisson, chi square, t, and F distributions
  • Define measurement system analysis
  • Understand the difference between measurement terms such as accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and repeatability
  • Conduct a gauge repeatability and reproducibility study
  • Understand process capability studies
  • Understand various measures of process capability
